My Friend.

My friend is changing her life. She started a little bit before me on Weight Watchers. She has lost 24.2 lbs. She is doing it and I am super jealous. I don't know why I can't do this for myself. I know what I am supposed to do and how to do it so I don't know why I can't follow through. She has lost nearly 25 lbs and I am lucky if I don't gain each week. I am still hovering around 220. It's not fair! Okay maybe it's fair because she is actually working at it and I am not, but it still sucks for me! 25 lbs would take me under 200. It's been years since I was under 200. Why can't I do this? :(

A free Bloomin' Onion.

Outback Steakhouse has a coupon for a free Bloomin' Onion on their Facebook page. All you have to do to get this coupon is become their friend. Really? In this current world of so many people being overweight and struggling, they decide to give out a free appetizer that has 2300 calories with 1206 of those calories being from fat? Not to mention that it has 240 grams of carbohydrates. I know that it is their signature appetizer but come on! 2300 calories for an appetizer? Most people shouldn't even eat 2300 calories in one entire day. Why can't they give away a salad or something. I did become their friend and I did get the coupon e-mailed to me. I like free things just as much as the next person, but this is one free item that I do not want and will not be utilizing!

One Week.

One week ago I re-joined Weight Watchers Online. I have been home on quarantine for the past week so I didn't get much exercise or eat so well. I did still manage to come out with a loss though. I reset my ticker to what I weighed last week so that it would coincide with WW.

So...
Week 1: 1.4 lbs loss

52 days until Christmas!

Are you ready for Christmas? There are only 52 days left! Would your kids love a letter from Santa? We ordered one last year and Natalie thought it was just totally awesome. Now that she is learning to read, she will love it even more this year! I totally recommend my friend Heather's Santa Letters. They are awesome and the kids love them too.

Neglect

So, here I am again. I know I have neglected myself for the last 3 months. I was doing good with doing the Shred but it was KILLING my knees. It hurt immensely and I stopped. I stopped everything. I stopped exercising. I stopped eating right. I stopped caring for my home. Yet, here I am to try again. The good news is although I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 months, I haven't gained any either. So here I start again at the same place I ended. I can't believe how unbelievably hard it is to do this for myself. I will never give up completely though until I get to the end. It may take me several tries but I will do it.

I am off work today. They are not using my On Call. I work at the mall so I do stand and walk all day but that is the extent of my exercise. I am going to try and take a bike ride today.

It's really hard for me to not eat all day when I am off. I will be trying extra hard today.

Breakfast:
1/2 cup eggbeaters
Dry English Muffin
Strawberry yogurt

Snack:
Green and purple grapes

Lunch:
Smart Ones pasta primavera

Snack:
Weight Watchers Ice Cream

Dinner:

I don't belong to Weight Watchers anymore so I can't get to the points calculator and such but I figure I will just try to estimate. I kind of remember what I was eating when I was on WW.

WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!?!

Shredding-Day 1

As some of you might know, I love the Biggest Loser. For Mother's Day I got two of Bob's videos and Jillian's 30 day Shred video. My friend Heather saw that I got the video and said she had it too but hadn't started yet. We live a 100 or so miles away from each other but we decided that we would be Shred Buddies to keep each other on track. Well I started today. It was a good little work out! I have a couple observations or maybe I should call them tips for next time.

Next time I will:

* Wear a bra. Simple enough right. I never put a bra on until I get ready for work. I guess I will have to put one on first thing now! I am going to look at Target for a sports bra.

* Wear a pad! lol Ever since I had Natalie I can't jump, cough, sneeze, laugh without peeing myself! lol There are A LOT of jumping jacks in this video!

Other than those two things, it went very well and I look forward to tomorrow!

:)

It's what you didn't do...

We were leaving Pre-K graduation today and heading on over to Old Chicago for lunch when I see this behind me in my mirror.
Photobucket
Just Great! Just what I need.

Officer gets to my car and I open my door.

Me: Sorry, my window doesn't open.
Him: That's okay.
Me: What did I do?
Him: It's not what you did, it's what you didn't do.
Me: What didn't I do?
Him: Seat belt.
Me: I had my seat belt on.
Him: He doesn't. (Pointing to my dh in the passenger seat).
Side Note: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME, YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THEN SEARCH OUT PEOPLE WHO'S PASSENGERS DON'T HAVE ON A SEATBELT? GHEEZ THE CITY MUST BE HURTING FOR MONEY OR SOMETHING.
Him: Do you have your license and insurance.
Me: hand it over to him.
Him: Do you have ID Sir?
Me: Hand it over to him.
He leaves and comes back with the ticket.
Him: Sir, here is your citation for not wearing your seat belt. You don't have to go to court. It's $25 and won't affect your license.
Rich: (Sarcastically) Slow Day?
Him: It's just what we are out doing.

So, as I pull up to leave he is still behind me. We are at a light. All of a sudden he is gone. I'm like where did he go, he was just there. He JUMPED the median flipped on his lights and was stopping someone else before I was even 3 feet away.

What a joke!

Flashdance!

Last week we went to McDonald's and the Happy Meal toy was a Kidz Bop CD. This CD kept her busy for awhile so I figured I should get her the rest since she seemed to like it so much. I went on ebay and ordered the complete set of Kidz Bop CD's.
She loves them!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day. I had a wonderful day, I hope you did as well!
I woke up to some jumping on the bed to wake me up yells of "Happy Mother's Day". It was great! Once I was awake, Natalie brought me my gifts one by one. I am usually not surprised. I usually pick out what I want. This year I picked out some things but was also surprised with some more! Daddy took Natalie shopping at Target yesterday while I was out getting my hair done. I picked the scale and the videos and Natalie picked and made the rest! I got a scale, 3 workout videos, an 8x10 picture frame, a planner that I can put my own picture as the cover, a picture of Natalie, a rose, a working mothers prayer, cards, and hugs!
Mother's Day 2009

I have to tell you too that all of my presents were wrapped in clear plastic. When they were at Target, Daddy let Natalie pick the rolled wrapping paper. She really loved the SHINY SILVER wrapping paper so Daddy let her get it. . Little did she or Daddy know that it was clear wrapping paper that you put in bags or something. They are so cute!

She also loves the Music Cards. Doesn't matter the occasion. My card said Happy Birthday and Daddy didn't notice until they got home. So they just crossed out Birthday and added Mother's Day! lol I love them. Oh and the card sang, "That's the way..uh huh uh huh I like it, uh huh uh huh! :) :)

When I finally got out of bed we got ready for Church. After Church, Daddy made us some breakfast of spam and eggs. lol Then my MIL came over and brought me some flowers and lots of food! She brought salad, bread. fruit, lasagna, candy, cookies, and some other stuff too. Then we went to the hospital to see my Sister In Law, Jeannie. She is having gallbladder problems and so Amber is staying with my MIL and FIL. Anyhow, we went to visit so that she could see Amber on Mother's Day. After that, we came home and ate lasagna. (It was so good too!) Now we are just lounging around. Later Natalie and I are going to have a tea party.

Hair

You know you had a bad day at the hair salon when:

1. You are there for 5 hours.
2. You say don't cut my hair, I am letting it grow and she cuts it anyway.
3. She says come back next week and I will give you a free deep treatment.
4. You are paying and she gives you a discount.
5. She gives you a bag full of creamy stuff to put on your hair.
6. While you are paying, she says "My recommendation for your hair is to NEVER get a perm and color" AFTER she just gave you a perm and a color.

Hit and Run!

I-AM-SO-ANGRY!

This morning on the way to school I was stopped at a light waiting to turn and this guy runs right into the back of my car! No big deal right. I put my flashers on and turn the car and he makes sure to turn behind me to make the light. I pull into the nearest parking lot and HE-KEEPS-GOING!! I quickly get back onto the road behind him but it's a one lane and there are now 4-5 cars behind him and in front of me. The one in front of me thinks I am a jerk and decides to drive 1 mph ON PURPOSE! I understand they don't know what happened but still I am trying to follow this guy and you are going 1 mph! I finally get behind him and he pulls into OUR SCHOOL! Imagine that! He pulls up to let his kid out and I jump out of my car and I knock on his window. He rolls it down and I say, "You hit my car, were you even going to stop?" and he yells, "Well was there any damage." (NOT THE POINT). I say, "I don't know yet, I was trying to follow you to get your license plate number for leaving." AND-HE-LEFT-AGAIN!!! I scramble to get his license plate and park my car to take Natalie in and to call the cops to file a Hit and Run. (I forgot my cell phone this morning...never again will that happen!) The cop finally gets there and I have no idea what make the car is. I just know it's a white car driven by an older gentleman. I guess when I wrote down the license plate, I had a letter instead of a number. I think they still found it though. I CANNOT believe that this guy didn't stop and left twice all while taking his child to a CATHOLIC school. Un-freaking-believable!

Beach Party!

Natalie has been looking forward to her Beach Party in her class all week. They were supposed to bring in a beach towel today along with their show and tell that is something that has to do with the ocean. Today was the day. Unfortunately, she is sick for the second day in a row and couldn't go to school again. :( She was so sad. I told her we would have our own beach party today instead.

Photobucket

Not your typical beach foods though. Natalie had Chicken Noodle soup, pickles, peanut butter crackers, & water. I had tuna salad, pickles, and a dt. coke.

Later after nap time, maybe I will take her swimming to try out her new swimsuit...in the bathtub!

I think she's enjoying herself!

A couple of Non Scale Victories from today!

  • This morning I thought for fun I would try my red jacket on again. I was actually able to button it! It was tight, but still buttoned! YES!
  • I no longer need to use a bra extender on my bras! They are comfortable on the last hook. YIPPEE! (If you are looking for a good bra try the one I use! Victoria's Secret Ipex Wireless).

The same...yet different.

Photobucket
I have two pairs of these pants for work. Both exactly the same. (They are Right Fit Yellow-Size 3). I don't understand why that even though they are exactly the same, one pair has always been snug. I never wear that pair because they aren't comfortable. Well, I can wear them now! They are no longer snug! Wahoo!

10 lbs down!

As of this morning, I am 10 lbs down.
226-10=216
16 lbs to go until I meet my first mini goal!

I can already see some differences in myself. My belly doesn't stick out as much and my butt is apparently smaller.

Rich: "Your butt is smaller too"
Me: "Oh yeah?"
Rich: "I should know, I squeeze it all the time!"

Another conversation:
Rich: "You look HOT"
(I had put on a new outfit for Church this morning and It looked pretty good I guess!)

:) :) :)

I started my girly time today too so it may be a little bit of a higher hurdle this week.

4/25/09

Well it has been one heck of a week. I woke up on Monday sooooooo sick. I felt like I got run over by a bus, hardly had a voice, and my throat was ON FIRE. I had to be at work at 10:30 on Monday morning. It is very hard to call out of work because they make you call a bunch of people to get to cover for you. I didn't want to through that. I got myself ready for work and dragged myself in at 10:00. It was my plan to have THEM call around to find someone to cover me or hope that they didn't tell any of the on-call people no. My idea worked! My manager found someone to cover me and I got to go home before even clocking in! I came home and layed around for most of the day. I wasn't able to stay on plan. Some might say that I even went on a little binge. Here's what I ate throughout the day on Monday: 2 cans of chicken noodle soup, salami and turkey lunchmeat, a pickle, 3 cough drops, chocolate peanut butter granola bar, 2 cups of herbal tea, ice cream, doritos, and a mini twix. Shameful, I know! I stayed on plan for the rest of the week though! So yes, I fell off the wagon for one day, but I hopped right back on and plowed forward.

I went to bed hoping to feel better in the morning. I felt much better but I still didn't have a voice. I went to work and worked for 2 hours before they sent me home.

So here we are, 6 days later and I still barely have a voice. I did go to the Dr. and got antibiotics and cough medicine since I have a horrid cough.

4/19/09

Went to McDonald's this morning to pick up breakfast. Here is what was purchased:
*2 burrito meal
*hotcakes and sausage meal
*hashbrown
*biscuit w/ butter

I will tell you that I (heart) McDonald's. Like really love it! So, which food above do you think I ate? Got your guess in?

Well...NONE of it was for me! I didn't see any point in getting something for myself that I could make at home. We are out of milk and other breakfast items for the other two to eat but there were eggs and some bacon left for me to eat! At first the hashbrowns smelled so good in my car on the drive home, but after a few minutes it kind of faded away and I didn't even think about them anymore! :)

My breakfast was: Bacon, eggs, and cheese cubes.

Natalie and I are going to go to the mall today to get some walking in since I am off today.

Well we went to the mall and fiddled around for a few hours. Stopped at Gymboree for awhile and used some coupons on some cute stuff! We checked out the newly opened Sephora store where the lady encouraged Natalie to use the tester stick and put pink eyeshadow all over her arm! Lol, thanks Lady! We ate lunch at the mall too. Here's the choices that are in our food court:
TGIF
3 Chinese places
Subway
Sbarro
Major Munch (burgers I think, I've never eaten there.)
Long John Silver
Great Steak and Potato Company
Auntie Anne's
Cinnabon
The best choice for me was Great Steak and Potato Company. I got Steak and cheese with lettuce sandwich...minus the sandwich! They have the option to just put it in a bowl and fore go all the bread! After lunch we left and went grocery shopping at Walmart for awhile. We are always in there forever but we walk a lot so it's cool!
For dinner I made chicken and broccoli.

It was a nice day. Back to work tomorrow!

21 days

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. It is honestly hard to do. I have to take it one day at a time. Like today when I got home from work. I opened the fridge and there sat a taco from taco bell that my family got while I was at work. Without even thinking, I took it out to eat and said, Aww, thanks for getting me a taco!" almost instantly after I took it out to eat it my mind was like "WAIT! STOP! What ARE you doing?! I had suddenly remembered that I was not allowed to eat that! It's hard and it's automatic sometimes.
One day at a time. One meal at a time.

"From the Aristotle blog:

"Dr Maxwell Maltz wrote the bestseller Psycho-Cybernetics.
Originally a Plastic Surgeon, Maltz noticed that it took
21 days for amputees to cease feeling phantom sensations
in the amputated limb. From further observations he found
it took 21 days to create a new habit. Since then the '21
Day Habit Theory' has become an accepted part of self-help
programs.

Brain circuits take engrams (memory traces), and produce
neuroconnections and neuropathways only if they are
bombarded for 21 days in a row. This means that our brain
does not accept new data for a change of habit unless
it is repeated each day for 21 days (without missing a day)."

My Mini Goals.

-26 lbs/200 lbs/34.3 obese

-25 lbs/175 lbs/30.0 obese

-25 lbs/150 lbs/25.7 overweight

-24 lbs/126 lbs/21.6 mid range normal weight

Here I go again!

April 14, 2009

"I dont know where I'm going
But, I sure know where Ive been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday
An I've made up my mind,
I aint wasting no more time
But, here I go again
Here I go again..."

Gotta love Whitesnake!

Anyhow, here I go again taking another stab at losing weight. I'm going to do it this time. I've gained and lost weight steadily for the past 9 years. I am starting off this time at 226 lbs. My highest weight ever. When I gave birth to my daughter 5 years ago, I wasn't even as heavy as I am now. What makes me think I can do it this time if I haven't been able to stick to it before you ask? Well let me tell you! I have been testing myself. First came Lent. I had to decide what I loved that I would be able to give up for 40 days to be closer to and to realize what God has done for me. I decided to give up Dt. Coke (It's the only soda I drink). I did it. It was super hard, but for 40 days I did it. I was so very proud of myself but I thought that I needed another test since it is always so hard for me to stay on track of losing weight. For the last 23 years I have been biting my nails. A terrible and nasty habit that I have never been able to break no matter how many times I have tried. When I say I bite them, I don't mean bite them a little. I bite them until they hurt and bleed and burn when water touches them. I am happy to say that it has been about two weeks since biting my nails. This is why I know that I can accomplish this next goal of mine. My goal is to lose 100 pounds! I have tried so many different ways of eating. Pills, Weight Watchers,Low Calorie, Atkins, and many many others. I have found that the best ones that work for me are low calorie and Atkins. I am choosing to go with Atkins right now.

In this blog, I will put my daily meals and my daily struggles. I will show my before, during, and after photos. I will post whatever gets me through the day! I will post happy and sad days. I will post it all!

I know I can do it this time!
