Another Day
Here we are at day 60 1 Is it day 61 or is it day 1 all over again? I don't know. So in the end of the challenge it's looking like out of all the people that started, it ended pretty much with 3 people actually finishing. I came in last place of those 3. #1 and #2 had their own little competition going on as well between the two of them. They are IRL friends and they kept each other motivated and challenged throughout the whole process. They probably also had support at home. My IRL people don't get it. They don't get it so much that I don't tell people what I am doing anymore. I think that helps me inside my head, but it also hurts my progress sometimes. It's so hard. I'm not having a pity party. I am just trying to figure out what kind of process and help gets you further in the game. Do you need people behind you helping or can you do it all on your own? Just a thought to ponder! Now, I am off to work. Sometimes I walk a lot at work. Today I am going to put on my pedometer for fun and just see what it tells me because I am curious sometimes just how many steps I take at work! Tonight Natalie has dance but my plan is to ride my bike afterward. I will TRY to accomplish that goal.

60 days
Well the BSBWL challenge is officially over and I did not win. I am not giving up though. I have suddenly had a new burst of desire. I know, I say it all the time. What's one more time right?!

Dissapointment and Sadness
Disappointment
Weighing in is so disappointing sometimes. Yesterday was the half way point of the challenge. The end of the teams and the beginning of the singles. My team came in third. :( I didn't lose anything last week. :( :( I focused myself and ate on plan today but there are 4 weeks left and I feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. I'm starting to wonder if I am always supposed to look like I do.
Sadness
I am so sad. I feel like it's so unfair that I can't eat what I like. I'm not even talking about junk food. I'm talking fruits and such. I feel like there is no possible way that I can lose weight if I am not on a strict low carb way of eating.

BSBWL Challenge-Day -Weigh In Day!
Welcome back to another BSBWL weigh in day! This week I lost 3.6 lbs. If you remember back to last week you'll remember that I gained 3.6 on the last weigh in day! So I guess the past two weeks washed each other out! lol Oh well, still a loss and hopefully this next week will not bring on another gain! I just have to stay focused and ahead of the game. I can do it! I SO want to get to 199 by the end of the challenge. We are just finishing week 3. 5 weeks to go.

BSBWL Challenge-Day 5
Here I am on day 5. Still going strong. I am starting to have some cravings for things I can't eat though. I haven't had any Diet Coke in about a month. I was wishing for some yesterday and today though. I wished through it and had some Water and Crystal Light. Mowed the grass today. It's not as much exercise as it used to be though because we have a riding lawn mower now!
As you know, I got a promotion at work. I got it instead of someone else that has been there longer. She is very unhappy, which I can understand. However, I didn't make the decision but apparently she is mad at me about it. She un-friended me on Facebook today. Out of respect for her being my friend on Facebook, I didn't even post about it on there even though I was tremendously happy about it.
I got a new fish tank today. It's 20 gallons and I got a wooden stand for it as well. The old tank was 10 gallons and the one before that was 5 gallons. My fish just keep growing and growing! The one has to be at least 5 inches long now! They were feeder Goldfish that we won at the fair last year by throwing the ping pong ball in the fish bowl. I can't believe they are still alive! This is the biggest tank I am getting though so if they get to big for this one then they are going to have to go and live somewhere else!
Brunch:
Denny's Ultimate Omelette
Sausage
Snack:
Pepperoni
Dinner:
Shrimp
Beef Tips w/ Worcestershire sauce
48 ounces water
2 glasses Crystal Light
My MIL brought over my very favorite food tonight. It's her home made macaroni soup. I'm not having any. I've got my eye on the prize!

21 days
I posted this on my blog last year but I needed a reminder because last night at CEC I instinctively went for the Dt. Coke with my cup. I realized half full and dumped it out and filled my cup with water!
-----------------------------------------------------
They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. It is honestly hard to do. I have to take it one day at a time. Like today when I got home from work. I opened the fridge and there sat a taco from taco bell that my family got while I was at work. Without even thinking, I took it out to eat and said, Aww, thanks for getting me a taco!" almost instantly after I took it out to eat it my mind was like "WAIT! STOP! What ARE you doing?! I had suddenly remembered that I was not allowed to eat that! It's hard and it's automatic sometimes.
One day at a time. One meal at a time.
One day at a time. One meal at a time.
"From the Aristotle blog:
"Dr Maxwell Maltz wrote the bestseller Psycho-Cybernetics.
Originally a Plastic Surgeon, Maltz noticed that it took
21 days for amputees to cease feeling phantom sensations
in the amputated limb. From further observations he found
it took 21 days to create a new habit. Since then the '21
Day Habit Theory' has become an accepted part of self-help
programs.
Brain circuits take engrams (memory traces), and produce
neuroconnections and neuropathways only if they are
bombarded for 21 days in a row. This means that our brain
does not accept new data for a change of habit unless
it is repeated each day for 21 days (without missing a day)."

The Big Skinny Weight Loss Challenge!
This is just what I need. A challenge that also involves other people! It's the Big Skinny Britch Weight Loss Challenge and it will last for 60 days. It was $5 to enter and the winner biggest loser will win the money. Aside from winning the money and the prize of being more healthy, the winner will also get a gift card to a store where you can buy a new outfit! The first 30 days I'll be on a team and then after that I'll be on my own. My personal goal is to get under 200. My starting weight is 221.4. Think I can do it? We'll see! One of the requirements of the challenge is to have a current within a week photo. In 30 days, I'll have another photo and then in 60 days another.
The challenge officially starts on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

5/26/10
Did well today.
I ate some pretzels and water for breakfast. I know, not the best, but I was rushed this morning and that is all that was at work.
For lunch I had a chicken sandwich w/ lettuce.
For a quick snack I ate a banana.
Dinner was a Smart Ones Lasagna meal.
Snack was single serve bag of popcorn.
I only drank water today! :)
Tomorrow I will pick up some more popcorn and Smart Ones meals from Walmart.

Laugh Love Lose
I rarely laugh and I try to love but have trouble with that sometimes. Losing weight is hard and it rarely happens for me.I am not a very happy person. Live Laugh Love is more than that though. Tonight I think I am losing it. I am losing the battle of what life is supposed to be like. You're supposed to Live, Laugh, Love, and Lose (in a good way) somewhere in there too. Today was one of the worst days of my life. Not THEE worst, but ranking very high up there.I lost a very important piece of my life. I lost a lot of friends today. I fear that I have lost one of my best friends. I've thought that for awhile though. I think she drifted away from me but I think she thinks I drifted away from her and what happened today makes it harder for us to be brought back closer together again. We lost our main thing in common. So now what? This will take awhile to pass and I'm not sure how I will make it through. I still have some friends that are trying to help me but just like when I was teased as a kid, the worse things always over-rank the good things. As Vivian said in Pretty Woman, "The bad stuff is so much easier to believe." That rings very true. At least for me anyway. Which is why I have many of the problems that I have. I could get 10 people saying something good to/about me but that one that says something mean/bad is the one that sticks in my head.
Average people love to be average because nobody bothers them.
Dare to be different. Dare to be hated.
I don't know, maybe average is better. Maybe different is better.
Tonight, I am hated by some and loved by others, but all I can
comprehend is that I am hated...still.

Not such a good day.
Had my review at work today. I actually got my raise months ago but they are just getting around to the actual reviews. In a nutshell, I do my job great. I know what I am doing and I do it. They love having me around. Then she says she wants to discuss something that isn't on the actual review paper. Uh Okay...Apparently I don't look good enough. My appearance. My Hair. Not enough make up. She's not sure if it's because I am having my gallbladder out next week and I've been feeling sick or what. Now, I KNOW I am not beautiful, but I do attempt to do my hair and make up EVERYDAY. I guess I don't do either very good and look sick. Great. Thanks. I can't help it if I am not a nice olive complexion with flowing hair! I will give her some credit. She did say it's improved a little bit. Swell. So I am only look half as bad as normal.
My husband is livid. He can't believe someone would say such a thing. Isn't it illegal to base a review on what someone looks like. Who's standard is it. They actually wrote that down? That's a lawsuit...
It wasn't written down. It was "off the record".
Just one more thing to be depressed about.
So, now I guess I need new hair, make up and clothes. Not sure where to come up with money for those when I am having surgery next week that I have to pay for and private school for Natalie to pay for, and a credit card to pay off.

Happy Easter!
Peter Cotton-Tail just left our house. He left us some goodies!
He put some candy, 2 matchbox cars, and a note in her basket. He also got her 2 outfits for her doll. He dropped off 51 eggs in the back yard.
Those roses you see. Aren't they pretty? Natalie and I got them at Walmart today for $3.50 and the little white flowers were $2.50. We already had the vase. Not a bad bunch of flowers for $6.00!

Low Calorie Mini Pizzas
I decided to try something new. I made mini bagel pizzas for dinner tonight.
They are only 125-130 calories each. Depending on whether you want any
toppings, it could be even less!
Mini Bagel Halves- 50 calories
1 Tbsp. Hunts Tomato Paste- 15 calories
1/8 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese- 40 calories
Pepperoni Slices- 10 calories each
Mushrooms- less than 1 calorie
350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Step 1- Slice the Bagels
Step 2- Add Tomato Paste
Step 3- Add Cheese
Step 4- Add Desired Toppings
Step 5- Bake for 15 minutes on 350 degrees
and voila! Mini Pizzas!
They were super yummy. Next time I may make some to freeze for taking to work with me.

Fickle!
Fick-le:
1.likely to change, esp. due to caprice, irresolution, or instability; casually changeable.
2.not constant or loyal in affections.
So, I am fickle. I change my mind at the drop of a hat! 6 days of Detox and I am ready for a change! I lost 8.6 lbs on detox. Awesome! The bad part is that I can't stay on detox forever. I know I am supposed to be on Detox for 3 more days but I am moving on a little early.
Breakfast: Nothing. Totally my fault. We woke up an hour late and had to get dressed and run out the door because we were late for school and work.
Lunch: Chicken Salad Sandwich. (toasted) I was actually craving this!
Dinner: Healthy Choice Soup, Chicken/Spinach Wrap.

Detox-Day 6
I honestly can hardly believe that I have made it this many days so far without quitting or eating something that I am not supposed to. I really am proud of myself. It's so hard. It is so much easier to stop at a fast food place and get something quick. So much easier to eat junk. It's a lot cheaper to eat that stuff too. I'm going to keep on going though. I am worth the wait and the money!
I brought my recumbent bike back in from the garage. My house is small. Only 800 sq. feet. There isn't much room for it. It's been in several different rooms and it just doesn't work out in any of them. This time I put it in the bedroom, next to the bed, on my side. I can't get out of bed on my side. I have to slide to the bottom to get out but I can't use it if it's not inside so it's worth it. It's been there about a week. I finally rode it today. I set up my Laptop with the last episode of Greys Anatomy that I missed and pedaled my legs the entire 43 minutes that the show was on. You might be thinking oh yeah big deal 43 minutes. To me it is a big deal! I DID IT! I ACTUALLY DID IT! My legs were tired and I was sweaty beyond belief, but I did it. Following through and finishing makes me want to do it again tomorrow. 43 minutes will eventually turn into an hour and then maybe 2. I have to give myself goals that are achievable or I won't be able to keep on going!
Well of course I spoke too soon for the day! Today was the Chinese Auction at Natalie's school. They had a bunch of food and desserts. While it's still fresh in my mind, here's what I ate:
Dinner: Eggbeaters w/ salsa, cucumber

-Raw veggies-broccoli, celery, carrots, tomatoes
-Grapes
-Two mini ham rolls. (Size of a quarter each).
-Small section of Natalie's pretzel w/ cheese.
-2 small squares of veggie pizza. (about the size of 4 quarters in rows of two).
I didn't eat any of the many many yummy looking desserts and I drank Water instead of Soda. In the grand scheme of things, it's not horrible for you food, just off the detox plan. There was also much more yummy looking warm foods that I passed up.Dinner: Eggbeaters w/ salsa, cucumber

Shine All Night
Last weekend Natalie and I went to the Martina McBride/Trace Adkins/Sarah Buxton Shine all Night concert. It was a last minute decision and we got our tickets an hour before the show. We ended up with front row center! Awesome! Natalie even got to meet Sarah Buxton and her band mate!
It's okay, I'm with the band!
Natalie and Sarah Buxton and her band mate!
Hillbilly Bone!
Halfway through the show Martina rode this light up moon
from the main stage to a smaller stage that was right in front of us!
Totally Awesome!

Fat Smashing
Fat Smashing
Have you heard of the Fat Smash Diet? It's designed by Ian K. Smith, MD. He is the guy who does the Celebrity Fit Club. It's not a quick fix diet. It's a way of eating differently. You focus on eating foods that are healthy and filling and you combine this with exercise. It's nothing new. Calories In vs Calories Out. Just cut out the junk, eat well, and exercise. Simple right? His approach is separated into 4 phases.
Phase 1- "Detox" (9 days)
In the first phase of the Fat Smash Diet, food choices should be eaten raw, grilled or steamed. So here's the list of authorized foods for the first nine days. Basically, if it's not on here, you can't have it.
Authorized foods:
-Fruit in any quantity
-Veggies in any quantity except:
-No white potatoes
-No avocados
-Protein sources:
-Chickpeas
-Beans
-Tofu
-Lentils
-Brown rice, two cups of cooked rice per day
-Skim milk, two cups per day
-Water
-Oatmeal, one cup per day
-Herbs and spices
-Low fat yogurt, 6 oz., two times per day
-Egg whites, Four cups per day
-Herbal tea, two cups per day
-Low fat dressing, No more than three tablespoons per salad
-Low fat virgin olive oil, one or two teaspoons if grilling veggies.
Phase 2- Foundation (3 weeks)
In this phase you continue to eat phase 1 foods and also introduce the following foods:
Foods allowed in limited quantities in this phase include avocado, lean meats, seafood, whole egg, cheese, a variety of whole-grain cereals, granulated sugar, butter, fat-free mayo, coffee (10 ounces a day), fruit juice, diet soda, lemonade, and club soda. Continue to eat 4-5 meals a day.
Phase 3- Construction (4 weeks)
In this phase you eat the same foods as phase I & 2 except you will reintroduce whole wheat pasta and bread, increase the amounts of protein, adds fat free mayo & peanut butter, 2 whole eggs, 3 cups of low fat milk now & 1.3 oz of low fat/fat free cheese, 2 cups of freshly squeezed juice & whole grains bread 4 slices a day, 1 cup of pasta and 1 desert serving per day.
Phase 4- The Temple (for life)
The Temple is the final stage and one that the author promises will last a lifetime. In the phase wine, beer, pizza, and potatoes are now included, accompanying the guiding principles of exercise, portion control, not skipping meals, and eating four to five times daily.
The Fat Smash Diet is designed to change your relationship with food and get you hooked on regular physical activity for the rest of your life. At the end of the 90-day period, you should be making better food choices, eating fewer calories, exercising regularly, and losing weight.
During the detox phase, cravings are suppose to be smashed, and the nourishing power of fruits and vegetables reintroduced to your diet.
So, here is what I ate today:
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Snack: Banana
Late Lunch: Salad w/ cucumbers, tomatoes, & mushrooms.
Dinner: Brown rice w/ steamed green beans. Strawberry yogurt.
I know I didn't space things correctly but I didn't get to the grocery store until after work. Tomorrow should be better.

The Tooth Fairy is visiting tonight!
Natalie lost 2 teeth when she went to bed tonight. I put her to bed and was on the phone with my brother and she came out with a mouth full of blood, I was like what IS that and she handed me her tooth! Well after we rinsed her mouth out and I was taking pictures, I noticed the other one next to it was super loose! I got it loose enough to pull out so it wouldn't fall out while she was sleeping. We put them in her tooth fairy pillow. This pillow was my pillow. I felt so happy to pass it on to her.
The first pic is just missing the one tooth. I will take more pics before school tomorrow!

January 5
So the day started out good. I had some Special K w/ Red Berries for breakfast. I packed some rice cakes, an apple, and a bottle of water in my bag for work and off I went. At about 11:30, I started feeling a little sick. I thought maybe I was hungry so I ate 2 rice cakes. I thought maybe I needed some sugar since I was feeling nauseous, so I had a dum dum lollipop. That wasn't helping so I ate my apple. That didn't help either. Then I started throwing up. I felt like crap. I was able to go home early. I came home and had some chicken noodle soup and took a nap hoping that would help. Nope! I have been pretty much vomiting since I left work. It's 8 pm now and I think I have officially threw up everything that went into my mouth today and the insides of my stomach! I am afraid to eat anything else.
On a side note, I realized today that I don't miss morning sickness and I could never be bulimic because throwing up and feeling this sick is not pleasant.
