A couple of Non Scale Victories from today!

  • This morning I thought for fun I would try my red jacket on again. I was actually able to button it! It was tight, but still buttoned! YES!
  • I no longer need to use a bra extender on my bras! They are comfortable on the last hook. YIPPEE! (If you are looking for a good bra try the one I use! Victoria's Secret Ipex Wireless).

The same...yet different.

Photobucket
I have two pairs of these pants for work. Both exactly the same. (They are Right Fit Yellow-Size 3). I don't understand why that even though they are exactly the same, one pair has always been snug. I never wear that pair because they aren't comfortable. Well, I can wear them now! They are no longer snug! Wahoo!

10 lbs down!

As of this morning, I am 10 lbs down.
226-10=216
16 lbs to go until I meet my first mini goal!

I can already see some differences in myself. My belly doesn't stick out as much and my butt is apparently smaller.

Rich: "Your butt is smaller too"
Me: "Oh yeah?"
Rich: "I should know, I squeeze it all the time!"

Another conversation:
Rich: "You look HOT"
(I had put on a new outfit for Church this morning and It looked pretty good I guess!)

:) :) :)

I started my girly time today too so it may be a little bit of a higher hurdle this week.

4/25/09

Well it has been one heck of a week. I woke up on Monday sooooooo sick. I felt like I got run over by a bus, hardly had a voice, and my throat was ON FIRE. I had to be at work at 10:30 on Monday morning. It is very hard to call out of work because they make you call a bunch of people to get to cover for you. I didn't want to through that. I got myself ready for work and dragged myself in at 10:00. It was my plan to have THEM call around to find someone to cover me or hope that they didn't tell any of the on-call people no. My idea worked! My manager found someone to cover me and I got to go home before even clocking in! I came home and layed around for most of the day. I wasn't able to stay on plan. Some might say that I even went on a little binge. Here's what I ate throughout the day on Monday: 2 cans of chicken noodle soup, salami and turkey lunchmeat, a pickle, 3 cough drops, chocolate peanut butter granola bar, 2 cups of herbal tea, ice cream, doritos, and a mini twix. Shameful, I know! I stayed on plan for the rest of the week though! So yes, I fell off the wagon for one day, but I hopped right back on and plowed forward.

I went to bed hoping to feel better in the morning. I felt much better but I still didn't have a voice. I went to work and worked for 2 hours before they sent me home.

So here we are, 6 days later and I still barely have a voice. I did go to the Dr. and got antibiotics and cough medicine since I have a horrid cough.

4/19/09

Went to McDonald's this morning to pick up breakfast. Here is what was purchased:
*2 burrito meal
*hotcakes and sausage meal
*hashbrown
*biscuit w/ butter

I will tell you that I (heart) McDonald's. Like really love it! So, which food above do you think I ate? Got your guess in?

Well...NONE of it was for me! I didn't see any point in getting something for myself that I could make at home. We are out of milk and other breakfast items for the other two to eat but there were eggs and some bacon left for me to eat! At first the hashbrowns smelled so good in my car on the drive home, but after a few minutes it kind of faded away and I didn't even think about them anymore! :)

My breakfast was: Bacon, eggs, and cheese cubes.

Natalie and I are going to go to the mall today to get some walking in since I am off today.

Well we went to the mall and fiddled around for a few hours. Stopped at Gymboree for awhile and used some coupons on some cute stuff! We checked out the newly opened Sephora store where the lady encouraged Natalie to use the tester stick and put pink eyeshadow all over her arm! Lol, thanks Lady! We ate lunch at the mall too. Here's the choices that are in our food court:
TGIF
3 Chinese places
Subway
Sbarro
Major Munch (burgers I think, I've never eaten there.)
Long John Silver
Great Steak and Potato Company
Auntie Anne's
Cinnabon
The best choice for me was Great Steak and Potato Company. I got Steak and cheese with lettuce sandwich...minus the sandwich! They have the option to just put it in a bowl and fore go all the bread! After lunch we left and went grocery shopping at Walmart for awhile. We are always in there forever but we walk a lot so it's cool!
For dinner I made chicken and broccoli.

It was a nice day. Back to work tomorrow!

21 days

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. It is honestly hard to do. I have to take it one day at a time. Like today when I got home from work. I opened the fridge and there sat a taco from taco bell that my family got while I was at work. Without even thinking, I took it out to eat and said, Aww, thanks for getting me a taco!" almost instantly after I took it out to eat it my mind was like "WAIT! STOP! What ARE you doing?! I had suddenly remembered that I was not allowed to eat that! It's hard and it's automatic sometimes.
One day at a time. One meal at a time.

"From the Aristotle blog:

"Dr Maxwell Maltz wrote the bestseller Psycho-Cybernetics.
Originally a Plastic Surgeon, Maltz noticed that it took
21 days for amputees to cease feeling phantom sensations
in the amputated limb. From further observations he found
it took 21 days to create a new habit. Since then the '21
Day Habit Theory' has become an accepted part of self-help
programs.

Brain circuits take engrams (memory traces), and produce
neuroconnections and neuropathways only if they are
bombarded for 21 days in a row. This means that our brain
does not accept new data for a change of habit unless
it is repeated each day for 21 days (without missing a day)."

My Mini Goals.

-26 lbs/200 lbs/34.3 obese

-25 lbs/175 lbs/30.0 obese

-25 lbs/150 lbs/25.7 overweight

-24 lbs/126 lbs/21.6 mid range normal weight

Here I go again!

April 14, 2009

"I dont know where I'm going
But, I sure know where Ive been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday
An I've made up my mind,
I aint wasting no more time
But, here I go again
Here I go again..."

Gotta love Whitesnake!

Anyhow, here I go again taking another stab at losing weight. I'm going to do it this time. I've gained and lost weight steadily for the past 9 years. I am starting off this time at 226 lbs. My highest weight ever. When I gave birth to my daughter 5 years ago, I wasn't even as heavy as I am now. What makes me think I can do it this time if I haven't been able to stick to it before you ask? Well let me tell you! I have been testing myself. First came Lent. I had to decide what I loved that I would be able to give up for 40 days to be closer to and to realize what God has done for me. I decided to give up Dt. Coke (It's the only soda I drink). I did it. It was super hard, but for 40 days I did it. I was so very proud of myself but I thought that I needed another test since it is always so hard for me to stay on track of losing weight. For the last 23 years I have been biting my nails. A terrible and nasty habit that I have never been able to break no matter how many times I have tried. When I say I bite them, I don't mean bite them a little. I bite them until they hurt and bleed and burn when water touches them. I am happy to say that it has been about two weeks since biting my nails. This is why I know that I can accomplish this next goal of mine. My goal is to lose 100 pounds! I have tried so many different ways of eating. Pills, Weight Watchers,Low Calorie, Atkins, and many many others. I have found that the best ones that work for me are low calorie and Atkins. I am choosing to go with Atkins right now.

In this blog, I will put my daily meals and my daily struggles. I will show my before, during, and after photos. I will post whatever gets me through the day! I will post happy and sad days. I will post it all!

I know I can do it this time!

Egg "Hunting".

Today after Mass was the Easter Egg "Hunt". We got there and they had just started to put the eggs on the soccer field when it started raining. Not to worry though, we all just filed into the gym for some egg fun!

On our Way...

The beginning of Holy Week...Palm Sunday.

Photobucket
These are the palm crosses we made at Mass today.
Palm Sunday occurs on the Sunday before Easter Sunday. It signals the upcoming end of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. The day commemorates the spreading of palms and clothing in Jesus' path as He entered Jerusalem prior to His crucifixion:
They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" (Matthew 21:7-9)
